What we do

Everything in your heating, gas and water system.

Installation, fault diagnosis, repair, servicing and certification. Specialists in gas central heating and in particular fault diagnosis on boilers and systems.

Plumbing

Dripping taps, leaking pipes, shower problems, water tank issues, plumbing inspections and Legionella risk assessments.

Boiler Repair

Low pressure, locking out, no heating or hot water, noisy boilers. We find the fault and fix it the same day where possible. We carry a wide range of spare parts to make that happen, and we're experts in fault diagnosis on most makes and models.

Boiler Installation

We're approved installers, which means up to ten years' free manufacturer's warranty on the Vaillant and Glowworm boilers we fit. We work on and install all other makes too.

Boiler Servicing

We test the operation of all safety devices, flues, gas pressures, seals and emissions, and clean condensate traps, system filters and scale devices. A certificate is issued for every service.

Underfloor Heating Repair

Installation, fault diagnosis and repair of wet underfloor systems, without ripping up your floor when we don't need to.

Emergency Plumber

Burst pipe, no heating, no hot water. Call Sean direct and we'll get to you as fast as we can. We cover Reading and the surrounding towns.

Central Heating Repair

Cold radiators, noisy pumps, low pressure, sorted. We powerflush, fit smart thermostats, upgrade controls, and repipe whole systems when that's what's needed.

Gas Safety Certificate

We issue Landlord Gas Safety Records (CP12) across Reading and Berkshire. Tenant access? We arrange that too. Legionella risk assessments also available.

We’re manufacturer-approved by Vaillant and Glowworm, which means we can offer their extended warranties on top of our own guarantee, up to ten years’ free manufacturer’s warranty on the boilers we fit. We also work on and install every other major make, so you’re never tied to one.

If your heating is noisy, slow to heat up or not quite working right, we’ll provide a free quote for a powerflush, or for a boiler replacement if that’s what’s needed.

Surefire is a family-run business, established in 2003 and based in Tilehurst. Sean has over 30 years’ experience in the trade, Gas Safe registered (no. 205434), City & Guilds Level 3, British Gas trained. His son has now joined the business too.

For landlords

Never miss a gas safety certificate again.

Annual gas safety certificates are a legal requirement on every let, and manufacturers state every gas appliance should be inspected yearly anyway. We take the hassle out of it.

Put your properties on our books and we email you before each certificate is due. With your permission, we arrange tenant access ourselves, carry out the certificate plus any repairs, and send the paperwork over electronically.
